Bronze Claw Iso is the new release from acclaimed producer and musician Iglooghost.

Expanding on the sonic palette and world building of last year’s Tidal Memory Exo, the new five-track EP sees another pivot away from instrumental music towards something much confrontational and direct, with Iglooghost’s vocals now front and centre.

Combining disembodied influences of IBM, industrial music and sleazy trip-hop - Bronze Claw Iso pulls from vague, misinterpreted childhood memories of growing up in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. Intended to feel like music that could be blasting from your angry hormonal older brother’s bedroom - the record’s sound and imagery toys with the edginess and cybernetic doommongering found in teenage-targeted media at the time.

Bronze Claw Iso makes use of construction site inspired imagery, combined with nods to Geiger-lite bastardizations found in cheap video game manual artwork and toys like BIONICLE. While never directly using period-accurate signifiers as a shortcut, the EP aims to evoke these associations laterally without folding to nostalgia-baiting.

The EP’s production impishly resists many maximalist traits Iglooghost has become synonymous for — opting for stark, direct song structures and more boneheaded primitive drum sequencing. Drawing from the psychotic non-sequiters and sound effects from commercials and PS1 user interface sounds, Bronze Claw Iso reverse engineers and reimagines these tropes from scratch by using software synthesis and modern laptop DAW trickery.
