umru emerged into the zeitgeist of pop music at a young age via his early work with Charli xcx, A. G. Cook & PC Music. Through wide-reaching collaborations with the likes of ericdoa, Tommy Cash, Empress Of & Laura Les, a producer-staple sample pack series, and CDJ-defying DJ sets across the world, his strength in joining earworm songwriting with distorted sonic maximalism has become a defining influence on the cutting edge between underground and popular music. He is also a member of Open Pit, a collective who run non-profit virtual music events, including 2020’s Lavapalooza - a music festival hosted entirely within Minecraft with performances from 100 Gecs, A.G. Cook, Baauer, Oli XL and many more.
